Millikin women’s soccer posts 8-0 senior day shutout

Decatur, IL – Millikin University women's soccer honored the senior class of 2027 with a shutout over the Greenville University Panthers, victorious with a final score of 8-0.

Senior Mia Brown opened the scoring in the 2^nd minute of the game assisted by Addison Weed, scoring her first of the season and ninth career.

The Big Blue found momentum 20 minutes following Brown's goal with senior captain Izzy Jones sinking her sixth goal of the season unassisted. Two minutes later, Hannah Ramsey connected with the back of the net, found by Morgan Gaudy on the assist. To complete the scoring run in the first half, Caty Schmidt put herself in position to put MU up 4-0 two minutes after the Ramsey goal.

Women's soccer came out looking for goals right out of the gate in the second half with back-to-back scores in the first 10 minutes. Marissa Morris scored in the 49^th minute, followed by Ramsey assisted by Gaudy once again two minutes after, marking Ramsey's second goal and Gaudy's second assist of the game.

Quinn Orrick made her mark with a goal at minute 56 assisted by Morris, with her first goal of the season. This put the Big Blue up 7-0 with 34 minutes remaining.

With only one minute in regulation, Kenzie Long passed the goalkeeper to put the ball between the posts with Ramsey finding her in time.

Leaving the Panthers scoreless, goalkeeper Madalyn Everyly made one save and Jessica Bearley four, totaling five saves on Greenville's five shots on goal, giving them a 100% save percentage on the day. The shutout puts Millikin up 5-2 on the season as they hit the road to Jacksonville, Illinois, to face Illinois College. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at England Stadium, also streamed on the Midwest Conference Network.
