HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. — A few days prior to the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championship, three Illinois Wesleyan University men's golfers were named NCAA Division III PING All-Region honorees, announced by the NCAA in coordination with the Golf Coaches Association of America Sunday, May 10.
Senior Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central) earned the honor for the third time in his career while senior Aidan Healy (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) garnered the award for the second time. In his breakout sophomore campaign, Pablo Castro (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) earned the award for the first time in his career.
Spitzer, a two-time PING All-American, is amid a strong senior season. Headed into the final tournament of his four years as a Titan, Spitzer's career scoring average of 72.68 ranks third all-time in program history. This season, Spitzer has carded 13 even-par or better rounds and seven top-20 finishes. The senior's low round of the season (67) came during his individual win at the Cochran Collegiate, April 13-14.

Healy earns all-region status for the second time in his career, posting six top-20 finishes in nine events. Healy has been awarded College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Golfer of the Week twice this season after posting a pair of top-three individual finishes in the fall. Healy's career-low 54-hole total of six-under 210 came at the competitive Wabash College Invitational, Oct. 6-7, where he earned third place.
Castro is in the midst of one of the most stellar seasons in program history. The sophomore holds a scoring average of 71.8 through 27 rounds. In the Titans' five tournaments this spring, Castro has not recorded a finish lower than third place and includes two wins. He most recently won the CCIW Championship, April 29-May 1, and earlier won the IWU Invite, April 3-4. Castro is a whopping 17-under par in tournaments this spring as he currently ranks No. 10 in the latest Division III player rankings.
Illinois Wesleyan will head to the NCAA Division III Championships Tuesday-Friday, May 12-15 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The 72-hole championship is set to be contested at Mission Inn Resort + Club.
