Galesburg, IL – The Millikin University women's soccer team showed out with a dominant performance on the road in their season opener at Knox College, finishing on top 5-0.
Corinne Marstall got the Big Blue going with the first goal in the first 10 minutes of the game with an assist by Izzy Jones. Jones then went on a scoring run of her own with two additional goals within three minutes of each at the 47th and 50-minute marks, assisted by Marstall, who originally put Millikin on the board.
To finish off the second half, Hannah Ramsey joined the scoring club in the 80th minute of the game. Two minutes later, Caty Schmidt made a back-to-back play to tally another point, putting the Big Blue up 5-0. Millikin only gave up one shot attempt and one shot on goal to Knox in the entire 90 minutes, which was defended by goalkeeper Jessica Bearley, earning her one save.

The Big Blue return home for the first time this season on Saturday, September 5 at Frank M. Lindsay Field to host and take on the Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers at 1 p.m. on the CCIW Network.
