Sparks, a third-generation tradesman, formed his construction company in 2016 but was in the business for years before that. In just a few short years, the company has expanded from roofing and exterior renovation and building to offering just about anything a customer could need from a contractor.

With a total staff employed of 20 individuals, from in-house sales and project management supervisors to on-the-job crews, Sparks Construction has every aspect of a job covered. They work within a hour's radius of Bloomington-Normal.

When you meet for a consultation, you'll be asked for your vision of the work you want. Two-story addition? Wraparound deck? New windows? Do you want siding, shingles or brick? Will it look like the rest of your house or have a special design? Vinyl or wood windows, double hung, sliding or fixed?

The main question will be this: "If you could have the perfect idea of whatever you want, what would it be?" And once you answer, Sparks will run with it, going back and forth with you on ideas, materials, timelines and more.

As a contractor, Sparks and his team will take care of everything — design, materials, ordering, building, scheduling. "Every aspect," Sparks said. "We completely take the stress out of any project you've got. It's as stress-free and exciting as possible. We take pride in that."

Sparks Construction is fully insured and bonded, and state-licensed for roofing. The company specializes in roofing, siding, window replacement, interior remodeling, decks and exterior insurance restoration. Free inspections and estimates are available.

"Our big thing is taking the stress out," Sparks said. "What we’re going to do as a company ... we're heavily involved in a lot of the work from start to finish. We take pride in being personable. Other companies … work and get out. We keep everyone in the system. I'm still in contact with customers from three years just to touch base — are they doing OK? We take care of everybody from the very beginning."

Sparks Construction and its employees follow the company's core values of being patient, energetic, dependable, driven and having integrity. "We're doing the right thing rather than doing what makes a profit," Sparks said, including a lot of local charity work, including a recent fundraiser to buy a CPR machine for an ambulance.
