SPRINGFIELD – Classic car enthusiasts and families alike are invited to the annual Champagne British Car Festival car show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 31, on the Clover Lawn of the David Davis Mansion State Historic Site in Bloomington.
The Champagne British Car Show will feature more than 125 British vehicles on display against the backdrop of the historic mansion. Automobiles on display include Jaguar, MG, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Triumph, Austin-Healey, Cobra, Lotus, Mini, Rootes and motorcycles.
In addition to the car show, visitors can enjoy live music, a variety of vendors, and food and beverage options. The event, organized by the Illinois Flat Land British Car Club, is open to the public.
The David Davis Mansion, also known as Clover Lawn at 1000 Monroe Drive in Bloomington, is a Victorian-style home that was the residence of David Davis, Supreme Court justice and friend of Abraham Lincoln.
The site, managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Admission is free.
