DECATUR, IL – The Macon County Health Department (MCHD) is reminding residents that flu and COVID-19 vaccines are available through its walk-in vaccination clinic. Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Friday from 8:30–11:30 a.m. and 1:00–3:30 p.m. Appointments are also available by calling 217-423-6988, option 2.
The MCHD offers several vaccine options to help residents protect themselves, their families, and their communities during the respiratory illness season.
Flu vaccine options
Fluzone: Standard flu vaccine for individuals 6 months and older.
Flublok: Recombinant, egg-free flu vaccine for adults 18 and older.
Fluzone High-Dose: Designed for adults 65 and older to provide stronger protection.
COVID-19 vaccine options
Pfizer: An mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.
Moderna: An mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.
Nuvaxovid: A non-mRNA, protein-based COVID-19 vaccine option.
