Short notice, but Saturday, September 26, is a full moon. Join the Friends of EverBloom and Central IL Kayaking and Floating for a unique full moon paddle opportunity. Weather permitting, participants will meet at the south Ropp Road boat ramp at Evergreen Lake at sunset (7 p.m.).
To participate in this event, all canoes and kayaks must have an Evergreen Lake registration sticker ($15 for McLean County residents, $20 out of county), a white light or lantern secured to the boat, and a signed Friends of EverBloom event waiver.
If you would like to participate and do not have your own boat, the Friends of EverBloom will have six canoes, including paddles and life vests, available at no charge. Contact Chris Sweet via the Facebook event link to reserve a canoe. Comlara Park also has additional canoes and kayaks available to rent, with no sticker fee on those.
For anyone who is interested in spending more time with fellow paddlers, the organizers have also reserved the large White Oak area group campsite near the south boat ramp. There is no charge for camping with the group.
