The Parkland College Theatre season will present performances of "Dear Evan Hansen" at the Harold and Jean Miner Theatre, November 5–22.
Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Steven Levenson ("Fosse/Verdon") and a score by Grammy®, Tony®, Emmy® and Academy Award® winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, "Dear Evan Hansen" is a new classic musical. Its message has resonated with audiences around the world: "You will be found."
Seventeen-year-old Evan Hansen has felt invisible his entire life. When a tragedy shocks his community and thrusts him into the center of a rapidly evolving controversy, he’s given the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to be somebody else. As his web of well-intentioned lies begins to unravel, though, he’s forced to confront that the price of belonging may be far steeper than he bargained for.
Jacob Deters directs a cast including Laramie Ziegler, Becky Park, Ainsley Holland, Kyle Klein, Tracy Kollman, Michael Steen, Jerry Strain, and Hannah Li.
The understudy cast will perform on November 13 and 15. They include Gavin Baugh, Kirby Toalson, Addi Barclay, Matt Purnell, Shannon Morber, David Heckman, Nico Chantharasy, and Abigail Vavrik.
Performances take place November 5, 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21 at 7:30 p.m. and November 15 and 22 at 3 p.m. Tickets to this teen-rated show cost $25 for adults and $18 for students, youth, seniors, and veterans. Opening night is half the price of an adult ticket ($12.50). Tickets are on sale now at tickets.parkland.edu.
