EAST PEORIA - Nine Pantagraph-area players, including three from Class A State Tournament qualifier Olympia High School, have been chosen to play in the 16th annual Super 60 Classic all-star softball games June 11 at the EastSide Centre.

Pitcher Kaylee West, pitcher/infielder Lindsay Watkins and infielder Jessie Gourdier will represent Olympia. They will play for the Mizuno White squad, one of four teams to compete in semifinal games at noon, with the third-place and title games at 2 p.m.

Normal Community infielder Allison Ward and Delavan catcher Stefanie Larson also will play for the Mizuno White. Bloomington catcher Shelby Parker and Normal West infielder Megan Nelson will compete for the Mizuno Blue team, while University High catcher Ashton Hitchcock and Tremont infielder/outfielder T.J. Matheny will play for the Mizuno Red.

This is the first year the event has been played at the EastSide Centre, home of the state finals, after more than a decade in the Chicago area. The games feature the top senior players in the state as chosen by a statewide media panel and selected coaches.

Admission is free.
