Naborowski transfers to U of I-Springfield

SPRINGFIELD - Former Central Catholic High School volleyball star Megan Naborowski has transferred from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock to the University of Illinois at Springfield.

The 5-foot-8 junior libero and outside hitter had 447 digs for UARL last season and 243 as a freshman.

"Megan is a dynamic player who will help us in all aspects of our game," said PrairieStars coach Joe Fisher. "She's a quick, intense player who strives for perfection on defense."

Naborowski, who will receive an athletic scholarship from Illinois-Springfield, was primarily an outside hitter in high school.

"Even though Megan has specialized the last two years as a libero, it will take her no time to get back into the role of playing outside hitter," said Fisher, whose NAIA Division I school posted a 14-23 record last year. "She gives us an added facet on the left side. She has a great vertical and is a very aggressive and smart hitter."
