About the Kraken:Â In their most recent contest, Sunday against Dallas, the Blues got the Stars entering the second game of back-to-back. On Thursday, they catch the expansion Kraken finishing off a back-to-back after playing Wednesday in Dallas.
The Kraken entered that game at 10-20-4 overall, last in the Pacific Division and 29th overall in the league. No, they won’t be the second coming of the Vegas Golden Knights when it comes to expansion teams. Not this year anyway.
Defense has been the biggest problem, with the Kraken ranking 30th in goals allowed per game — at 3.68. Former Blue Jaden Schwartz went on injured reserve Dec. 29 with a hand injury and won’t play Thursday; he was off to a decent start with six goals and 14 assists in 29 games. Another former Blue, Vince Dunn, will be in the lineup. He had three goals and 10 assists entering the Dallas game, but was minus-12.
