Betty Underhill

LEROY — Betty Underhill, 90, of LeRoy, passed away surrounded by all her kids at McLean County Nursing Home Normal, IL, Monday, January 23, 2023.

Visitation will be from 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy, with a funeral service starting at 12:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to LeRoy Presbyterian Church.

Betty was born July 17, 1932, in South Irvine, KY, to William and Eldoris (Hazel) Lowe. She married Jack Underhill in May of 1950, in LeRoy, IL. He preceded her in death, December 2009.

Survivors are daughter, Debra Secrest, Pekin, IL; sons: Jim (Debra) Underhill, Bloomington, Ed (Carla) Underhill, LeRoy, John (Kelly) Underhill, LeRoy, Jeffrey (Renee) Underhill, Bloomington, and Jerrold (Dawn) Underhill, Las Vegas, NV; 21 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother William Lowe, and one sister, Mary Margaret Byrd.

Betty was a member of the LeRoy Presbyterian Church and Ruel Neal Post 79 LeRoy American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Betty was known as a waitress, seamstress, caregiver, and sports mom to name a few. She was a loving mother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and devoted friend who will be deeply missed.
