CLINTON — Officials Wednesday said authorities are investigating after a body was recovered from Clinton Lake.
DeWitt County Coroner Randy Rice said a man in his 60s was brought out of the lake Tuesday morning. He was pronounced dead at 10:40 a.m.
Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conservation Police identified the man as 65. The department said a fisherman at the Clinton Lake Valley Mill Fishing access reported seeing a vehicle on the edge of the lake and then saw a body in the water.
The DeWitt County Sheriff's and Coroner's offices, Clinton Fire Department, Illinois State Police, and DeWitt County EMS responded to the scene, along with Conservation Police.
No further information was immediately available on Wednesday.
