Gay marriage infringes on religious rights

  • 0

While Hillary Clinton and many other politicians continue to stand and support gay marriage, I as a Christian and American citizen am becoming very concerned. I wonder what will happen to those of us who believe gay marriage is wrong.

People may call me hateful and they may call me disrespectful for my views on gay marriage. I can assure them I do not hate and I do respect people who are gay, but I do not condone or support their sexual behavior. To love another person does not mean that you have to support or accept everything in their lives for that is not true love, but acceptance.

I just have a few questions that I would like others to ponder on about gay marriage. If people want to be gay, then be gay, but why do they feel they have to get married? Why is civil union not enough? To me this is a slap in the face to the institution of marriage. I feel that as an American society, we will be soon be forced to accept and support gay marriage.

What will happen to those of us who believe gay marriage is wrong? I feel that this will infringe on my religious rights which is unconstitutional.

I hope and pray that Christians and others who believe gay marriage is wrong will not be pressured to change their beliefs or be looked down on by society because of their beliefs.
