PONTIAC - Ronald L. "Butch" Beck, 71, a resident of Livingston Manor since March 2002, died at 11 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 31, 2006) at OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
His graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery, rural Pontiac, with the Rev. Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded and Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac, is handling the arrangements. There will be no visitation. The family suggests memorials be made to the Livingston Manor New Building Fund or Pontiac Public Library.
Butch was born June 3, 1934, at Wing, a son of Raymond and Dorothy Handley Beck. He married Shirley Sarver. Survivors include: two daughters, Bonnie McCafferty, Evington, Va., and Kathy (Dave) Kiger, Rochester, Minn.; three grandchildren, John, Patrick and Kelly McCafferty; one great-grandson, Zachery McCafferty; two brothers, Phillip (Jonetta) Beck, Normal, and Richard (Fran) Beck, Bloomington; and five sisters, Harriet (Charles) Cochran, Shirley Wakey, Dorothy (Denis) Gschwendtner and Terry (Rick) Stone, all of Pontiac; and Sharon (Dee) Hamilton, Heyworth. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Butch was educated at Odell and Pontiac Schools and was a carpenter at McCoy Construction for several years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pontiac.
