ODELL — Joan M. Ayers, 80, of Odell, died at 8:17 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 10, 2015) at Evenglow Lodge Tjardes Health Center, Pontiac.
Mass will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Odell with Father Adam Cesarek officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Odell. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Odell. A rosary will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the church.
Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Odell, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born April 23, 1935 in Odell, the daughter of Earl and Catherine (Roob) Kelso. She is survived by daughters Dianna (Dave) Thorne of New Lenox, Mary Jo (Mike) Stadel of Odell, Nancy (Ron) Davis of Blackstone, Jan (Jim) Cahill of Ransom, and Sheila (Steve) Bressner of Pontiac; a sister, Ruth Rinn of Pontiac; two brothers, Joe (Verna) Kelso of Odell, and Pat (Garnet) Kelso of Odell; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons and a sister.
She was a graduate of Odell High School. Before her retirement, she was employed at Casey’s General Store in Odell. She was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church, Odell.
Joan especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time on her porch swing with friends and family.
