PONTIAC - Jill M. Bane, 30, Pontiac, died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 28, 2009) at her home after her battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pontiac, with Pastor Mary Kay Henson officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at Rowe Cemetery, rural Pontiac. Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jill's name may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.
Jill was born Aug. 25, 1979, in Pontiac, a daughter of Sam and Kris Rapp Lambert. She married Parker J. Bane on July 22, 2005, in Pontiac.
She is survived by her husband, Parker Bane, Pontiac; her daughter, Ella Marie Bane, at home; her parents, Sam and Kris Lambert, rural Pontiac; her sister, Becky (Jimm) Edinger, Pontiac; and her brother, John (Stacey) Lambert, Bloomington.
She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Jeanne Rapp, rural Pontiac; her paternal grandparents, Sam and Ellen Lambert, Pontiac; and one nephew, Sam Edinger. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Dave Rapp.
Jill graduated from Pontiac Township High School in 1997 and Illinois State University in 2000. She received her PTA from Illinois Central College in 2008.
Jill was full of energy. She loved life, loved her family and loved God. She served on the council of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pontiac. She was a certified athletic trainer and physical therapist assistant for Champion Fitness, Pontiac. She treated countless area athletes and served as the athletic trainer for Pontiac Township High School's football team. She touched countless lives with her outgoing personality and genuine concern for others.
