Jesse Yarger

BLOOMINGTON — Jesse Francis Yarger of Fort Myers, Fla., passed away unexpectedly Friday (March 17, 2017) in Fort Myers.

Jesse was born July 22, 1932, in Bloomington. After graduating from Bloomington High School, Jesse joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War. He moved to Fort Myers in 1960, and was employed for over 33 years with GTE (Sprint), retiring in 1993.

Preceding Jesse in death were his parents, Sybilla A. and Jesse E. Yarger; wife, Marilyn Zook Yarger; and brothers-in-law, Donald Zook and Russell Zook.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patty; daughter, Sarah J. Allen; sister, Judith Johnson, Normal; brother, Jim (Karen) Yarger, Heyworth; brother-in-law, Robert (Linda) Zook; and numerous nieces, nephews, stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Saturday at the Church of the Cross, 13500 Freshman Lane, Fort Myers, Fla. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Jesse be made to the Church of the Cross.
