ARLINGTON HEIGHTS — James E. Colloton Sr., 87, Arlington Heights, died Sunday (March 16, 2014) at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights.
He was born April 5, 1926, in Mason City, Iowa, to Harold and Miriam Kelly Colloton. James was vice president of transportation and distribution for National Tea Food Stores. He spent his winters in Naples, Fla.; his summers in Green Lake, Wis.; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
James is survived by his children, Susan (Frank) Ursini, James Jr. (Sharon), Edward (Anne), Joseph, and Marjorie (Marc) Doumitt; his grandchildren, Grace, Meagan, Edward Jr., James III, Caitlin, Leslie, Patrick and Sean; his siblings, Kathryn (late Roger) Morse, John (Maryanne), Richard and J. Michael (Sandra); and many nieces and nephews.
James is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Burke Colloton.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., Arlington Heights. Prayers will be at 8:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, then to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, Arlington Heights, for Mass at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to The Gloria Rebek Scholarship Fund (for Our Lady of the Wayside School), 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights, IL 60005.
