BLOOMINGTON - Al “Jean” Daley Flickinger, formerly of Bloomington, died peacefully at home Thursday (June 15, 2006) in Kingwood, Texas.
Her funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Bloomington, with Monsignor Douglas Hennessy officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bloomington.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epiphany Catholic School, Normal.
She was born May 3, 1927, in Bloomington, the daughter of Albert J. and Clara B. Daley.
Survivors include her husband, George L. Flickinger of Kingwood, Texas; children, David (Nina) Flickinger and Molly Stephens, both of Kingwood, Texas; daughter-in-law, Debi Flickinger of Humble, Texas; nine grandchildren, Will, Alexandra, James and Sarah Flickinger; John Miller III; and Joe, Holly, Daniel and Hannah Stephens; and many friends in both Texas and Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Michael Flickinger, in 2003.Mrs. Flickinger was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal, where she was a past president of the Altar and Rosary Society. Jean was a speech pathologist and audiologist at Illinois State University prior to moving to the Kingwood area. Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
