Local mission in need of more turkeys for meal

BLOOMINGTON — Home Sweet Home Ministries is in need of turkeys and other food items to help feed the expected 300 to 400 people on Thanksgiving Day.

Food services manager Carolann Carara has 10 turkeys but needs 50 in time to thaw and cook them.

Other needed items include stuffing mixes, green beans, mushroom soup, frozen pies, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, chicken broth, containers with compartments, sandwich bags, foil pans and turkey gravy mix.

Items can be dropped off at the Billy Shelper Center, 303 E. Oakland Ave.

Twin City senior citizens who would like to have a Thanksgiving meal delivered to their home can call 309-828-7356, listen for instructions and dial extension 241 to leave the requested information.
