Jamie Powell, 35, is accused of delivering less than 5 grams of meth to a Bloomington police vice unit on Thursday, prosecutors said, charging her with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a class 2 felony.
She was jailed in lieu of posting $5,135. An arraignment is scheduled for April 16.
A McLean County judge dismissed five criminal charges against a Bloomington man last week, nearly a year after a human rights report found that jail staff failed to adequately provide him with his seizure medications in a timely manner.
A bill that would repeal an existing law that prohibits prison inmates from voting is working its way through the General Assembly, although the chief sponsor says it’s part of a broader process to restore prisoners' voting rights.
