Heyworth man unlawfully possessed, sold guns, police say

BLOOMINGTON — A Heyworth man illegally sold a firearm to Normal police vice unit officers in August, court documents show.

Authorities said Jason Roof, 45, sold a SKS rifle to vice unit officers Aug. 5 and is charged with two counts of unlawful sale of a firearm and two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon — one of which for having ammunition.

He was jailed in lieu of posting $20,035. An arraignment is scheduled for April 30.
