BLOOMINGTON - Brett Holmberg, the Bloomington PrairieThunder's 22-year-old right winger, has joined teammates Don Parsons and Jon Booras as the third player to sign a contract to return to the team for the 2008-09 season. | PrairieThunder page

Holmberg led the PrairieThunder rookie class in scoring last season and was fifth on the team with 12 goals and 19 assists in 76 games. PrairieThunder coach Jarrod Skalde can see Holmberg building on his first year with the team.

"Brett made great strides during his rookie season and we expect more production this year," Skalde said. "We are going to push Brett to be a 20-plus goal scorer for us."

Holmberg was one of two team members to play in all 76 games last season. On April 5, the PrairieThunder scored four goals against Flint in 35 seconds, with Holmberg scoring the fourth goal.
