The following letter is in response to the "From the Pulpit" column written by the Rev. James Bortell entitled "Light a Candle."

Amen! Right on, brother Jim. It's amazing how he managed to pack so much insight, wisdom and guidance into such a very small space. May the seeds of words and deeds of gracious civility spread, take root and grow throughout the common ground - public commons - we share in both our private - oikos - and public - polis - worlds.
