In response to Jack A. Hobbs' letter of Oct. 2 ("Discount Palin because of positions on issues), for every position that he sees as a problem with Sarah Palin, I see as a positive.

Palin is being vetted by the news media in a manner that Barack Obama could not withstand.

Many of her Alaskan associates have come forward to support her and her story. Who is corroborating Obama's story? What is his story anyway?

And as for Mr. Hobbs main concern - creationism - when will it be accepted that both creationism and evolution are theories supporting a series of events that cannot be repeated. Presenting both theories seems reasonable to me. Then everyone is fully informed and can make their own decision.

Besides, if we are evolving, why are we not better than we are? It looks to me that nothing has changed as to human behavior over the centuries except that we have become more efficient at killing.

So, enjoy the election and may the best team win - the team that supports lower taxes for everyone, the right to life for the unborn and a strong defense of the Constitution and the United States.
