POLICE, FIRE, RESCUE

Windows broken - Someone broke the windows of at least three cars late Friday or early Saturday in a parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Springfield Road, Bloomington Police said.

A purse with cash and identification cards was taken from one of the cars, a report said.

Vehicle burglary - Someone broke a passenger window and stole a laptop computer from a car parking along White Place July 15 or Wednesday, a Bloomington police report said.

Burglary - Two bicycles were stolen from a garage on Shoreline Court Saturday, but the bikes were found after the victim saw someone riding them in the neighborhood, a Bloomington police report said.

The robbers also broke in to two cars in the same garage and took $15 in change.

Vandalism - Someone used a BB gun to shoot an apartment window about 11 p.m. Friday in the 1500 block of Northbrook Drive, a Normal police report said.

Damage was estimated to be in excess of $200.

Burglary - Nothing was taken after someone broke the front door of a house in the 400 block of East Vernon Avenue Friday, a Normal police report said.

Damage was estimated at $250.

Vandalism - Someone threw raw eggs at a car in the 1700 block of Truman Drive between 11 p.m. Thursday and 6 p.m. Friday, damaging the car's paint, a Normal police report said.

Man charged with

assaulting minor

BLOOMINGTON - An 18-year-old Bloomington man was charged Monday with sexually assaulting a minor during a July 19 incident.

Jesus Nicio must pay $5,000 to be released on charges of criminal sexual abuse and criminal sexual assault. He also was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.

Weapons - A Bloomington man must post $5,000 to be released on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon.

Joseph T. Thornton, 37, of the 1000 block of West Olive Street, is accused of possessing a weapon Sunday while having a felony record.

Resisting - A 28-year old man from Normal facing charges of resisting a police officer.

Brian L. Coone, of the 1000 block of Northbrook Drive, is accused of injuring a police officer Saturday during a scuffle on the way to the hospital. Coone was jailed in lieu of $500.

Theft - Bond of $100 must be posted for the release of a Bloomington man accused of stealing a TV from another man.

Leroy Caldwell, 60, of the 800 block of East Walnut Street, is charged with theft-subsequent offense for the alleged offense.

Unlawful restraint - A $750 was set for a Bloomington man charged with unlawful restraint.

Reginald Thomas, 31, of the 200 block of North Roosevelt Street, is accused of restraining a woman on Saturday.

Obstructing justice - An 18-year-old man faces obstruction of justice charges after allegedly giving police a false name.

Coty Funk provided false identification to police July 6, according to charges filed in McLean County Circuit Court. Funk was jailed in lieu of posting $1,000.
