BLOOMINGTON - A Bloomington woman who is accused of violating city code by letting her boyfriend park his collection of cars in her driveway could be heading to trial May 28.

The city of Bloomington is trying to collect more than $1,400 in fines levied against Julie Hernandez of the 1200 block of North Seminary Street. Her boyfriend, Kevin Wilburn, has been ticketed by the city a number of times because authorities said he parked his car collection near the 500 block of North Lee Street.

Neighbors and city officials are frustrated, saying Wilburn is parking anywhere from nine to 13 cars in Hernandez's driveway.

The fines issued by the city could come before a judge next week, but Hernandez has asked for a jury trial. If the case goes to a jury trial, a new court date will be issued.
