NORMAL - A cell phone store was burglarized again Friday as police continue to investigate a rash of 65 burglaries or attempted burglaries at small businesses in the last two months.

Three people broke a window about 7:30 a.m. Friday and entered U.S. Cellular, 1700 Parkway Plaza, Normal police said. They fled with a stereo amplifier and a bag of tortilla chips but no cell phones, police said.

About 50 phones were taken when the store was burglarized on Sept. 26. The Sprint store at 200 Greenbriar Drive has been burglarized three times in three months, losing almost 300 phones in the process.

Normal police said that one of the burglars in the latest break-in was a white male with bushy shoulder-length hair that had a blonde patch on top.

They had a trash can with them. Such cans have been used in other break-ins to haul away the cell phones.
