PONTIAC - A 51-year-old trucker from Little Rock, Ark., was dead at the scene of a semi-trailer truck crash on Interstate 55 near Pontiac, said Livingston County Coroner Mike Burke in a statement.

Elroy Jamerson had to be extricated after the crash which was about 10:15 p.m. Sunday. The driver was headed northbound when his semi left the northbound lanes and went into the median before ending up on its roof at mile marker 194.

EMS personnel from Duffy Ambulance Service and Pontiac firefighters responded to the crash site. State police and the coroner's office are investigating.

Jamerson is the 18th death from a traffic crash in state police District 6 this year and the ninth in Livingston County.
