Police, fire, rescue

A man and a woman described as being in their 20s stole four Dooney & Bourke handbags between 12:44 p.m. and 12:47 p.m. Sunday from Von Maur at the Shoppes at College Hills, 301 S. Veterans Parkway, a Normal police report said. Value was less than $1,000.

Theft - Four air conditioning units were stolen from a residence in the 2200 block of Hedgewood Drive between Feb. 8 and March 4, said a Normal police report.

Theft - A woman who accidentally dropped a pouch with $700 in a store parking lot discovered it stolen after going inside the store and finding it missing, a Normal police report said. The theft was about 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, 300 Greenbriar Drive. The store's camera recorded someone picking up the pouch, police said.

In court

A Bloomington man is accused of possessing and intending to sell marijuana.

Byron L. Saunders, 27, of the 800 block of East Washington Street, was jailed in lieu of posting $2,000 on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver the drug and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Forgery - A 22-year-old Peoria man was placed on 24 months probation for forgery.

Craig Humbles pleaded guilty to forging documents in March 2007. He was ordered to pay $260 restitution to the ISU Credit Union. A traffic citation for driving on a suspended license was dismissed in the plea agreement.

Burglary - A Bloomington man could receive seven years in prison when he is sentenced May 5 for burglary.

Richard Alford, of the 1800 block of Rainbow Avenue, pleaded guilty to the April 8 burglary of a vehicle. As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors agreed to seek a maximum prison term of seven years for Alford.

Charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and credit card fraud were dismissed by the state.

Theft - A Bloomington man was placed on 24 months of conditional discharge for possession of stolen money.

Michael Rotholtz, 17, of the 1300 block of East Bell Street, pleaded guilty to the theft charge related to cash taken from a woman in November.

Rotholtz was ordered to pay $3,000 restitution to the victim and complete 60 hours community service. Three co-defendants also are responsible for the restitution, according to court records.
