'American Pie' actor to perform music at uptown Normal venue

NORMAL - Actor Thomas Ian Nicholas, who played Kevin in the hit "American Pie" movie series, will demonstrate his musical side in a performance this weekend at the NV Ultra Lounge in uptown Normal.

Nicholas, who began performing musically at an early age and is releasing his first solo album, will appear at 9 p.m. Friday. Cover charge is $5.

In addition to his young-adult success in the "Pie" series, Nicholas also starred in the title role of the 1993 family-movie favorite, "Rookie of the Year," as a 9-year-old who winds up pitching for the Chicago Cubs.
