Happy (en)trails!:When does the Twin Cities' Constitution Trail demand that those who walk it pack a sturdy constitution themselves? When it turns into the Haunted Trail, natch. 'Tis the season for just that - at least for the C-Trail's quarter-mile stretch from Vernon Avenue to the Normal Parks and Recreation office. Two weekends' worth of scares is being offered: a "less-scary" version from 6 to 8 p.m. this Friday and Saturday, and a "more-scary" version Oct. 23-24. Admission this weekend is $1 or canned food donation; next weekend, it's $1 only. Overflow parking, with shuttle service, is at available at Chiddix Junior High School. Chunkin' time: Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird ... it's a plane ... it's a ... chunked Punkin. Hereabouts, the spectacle can only mean it's time again for the Morton's 13th annual Punkin Chunkin Weekend, in which large catapulting mechanical devices from around the country amass on the Uhlman Family Farm, at the corner of Allentown and Springfield roads near Morton. Baloo for you: Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book has seen many an adaptation over the years, from a fanciful 1942 movie version with Sabu to the 1967 Disney animated movie version with songs from the "Mary Poppins" team. Live theater productions have been in no short supply either, witness Theatre IV's current touring version, bringing Mowgli, Baloo, Shere Khan and the gang to the stage of the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts at 3 p.m. Sunday.
