Report: Woman drove SUV into utility pole; outages followed
BLOOMINGTON -- A woman drove her Jeep Cherokee into a utility pole at Walnut and Clinton Streets shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday eyewitnesses said. The woman refused medical treatment. Bloomington police and Bloomington fire department responded to the scene. Police are not yet releasing the name of the woman involved in the accident. Traffic was blocked on Clinton Street from Empire Street to Chestnut Street. The Ameren IPWeb site said 116 customers were without power at 8 p.m. but representatives did not immediately return a call regarding whether the outages were caused by the accident. |
