Event to benefit sick Pontiac infant

PONTIAC - The March for Hercules today will raise money for a Pontiac infant with a malformed heart.

William Joseph Raycraft, 5-month-old son of Rob and Andrea Raycraft, earned the nickname "Hercules" after surviving one operation as a 4-day-old. He needs two more.

To help the family with medical bills, friends have organized today's fund-raiser.

At 11 a.m., the 12-mile March for Hercules will start at corner of Illinois 116 and Old Route 66.

A chicken dinner will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 886 at 531 Lincoln Ave., Pontiac. E-mail detwiler2@hotmail.com to make reservations.

Donations may be sent to VFW-William Joseph Raycraft Fund at any FreeStar Bank.
